This Church
Who We Are:
- We believe that the church is merely saved people (Acts 2:47). We believe that Jesus, not the church, is the means of salvation (John 3:16), and that God adds us to the body of Christ (the church - Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18) when we are baptized for the remission of our sins (Acts 2:38-47; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13).
Our Organization:
- This church is completely independent from other churches or religious organizations. As the Bible provides no authority for any organization or religious hierarchy aside from a local body of Christians, we are not a part of any association of churches or any denomination.
- This church has elders (overseers) who assist us in our growth and deacons (servants) who assist the elders in various capacities. (Acts 14:23; Acts 6:1; 1 Tim. 3:1-13). We support the work of two local evangelists to assist in our knowledge of God’s word.
Our Goal:
- This church is a spiritual entity. Our goal is to be the "pillar and support of the truth" in the community and world we live in (1 Timothy 3:15). We are concerned about serving God. Our goals and activities are not political, social, nor recreational. As individuals these are areas wherein we are all naturally involved, but the Bible does not authorize a local church to make such concerns a part of its work.
We are Christians (Acts 11:26), disciples of Jesus Christ (John 8:31; Matthew 16:24). We wear no other name and claim no other affiliation. This group of people (church) belongs to Christ, thus we are a church of Christ (Romans 16:16).
